Sethu wins The Goan Achivers NGO Award for Social Empowerment 2010

With overwhelming joy, deep humility and ecstatic whoops Sethu is delighted to tell you that we won the Navhind Times-Viva Goa Goan Achievers NGO Award for Social Empowerment 2010. Our society has empowered us!

To be honored by one's own community means something very special. The entire exercise was a very exciting process. An expert panel made an initial selection of 3 shortlisted nominees. This shortlist was announced in the press around mid-February and was followed by a process of public voting. This is where Sethu was miles ahead of the rest of the competition, as we received support from not only Goa but all over India and the rest of the world – we heard that the men on Mars and the women on Venus also voted for us!

Sethu thanks you from the bottom of our collective heart for your validation of our work and the faith you have reposed in us. We could achieve what we have so far, only because of your unstinting support. Your votes, hugs, emails, calls, messages, cards, wishes, prayers and metta are Sethu's rocket fuel.

This award means that we should work even harder to build a strong bridge towards a bright and secure future for all children in Goa. Together, we can do it!
